ABOUT ME

I'm Christine Woodcock and I honestly had the best job. When I first started giving talks and doing webinars on Scottish genealogy, I made the realization that so many people of Scots descent had never been to Scotland. Having been born in Scotland, and having traveled back and forth for my entire life, it was beyond my ken to think that others who had roots in Scotland hadn't had the same experience. And so, Genealogy Tours of Scotland was born. Every year, I had the honour of accompanying groups of genealogy researcher to Scotland where they could immerse themselves in their Scottish ancestry. Tour participants got to acquaint themselves with the sights, the smells, the sounds of their ancestral homeland. This allowed the tour participants the opportunity to return to the land of their ancestors, conduct family history research and deepen their sense of belonging to their ancestral kin. And it helped them to discover their own Scottish Heritage in the process.

Unfortunately the pandemic put a significant damper on people's comfort level with regards to travel and so I had to end my tours. I did this with mixed emotions as I so enjoyed connecting people to their heritage and their ancestral homeland.

With the sudden switch, I now have more time to devote to my other genealogical passion, and that is writing family stories, creating memory books and helping others to get their genealogy research into a sharable format that will be passed down through the generations.

I hope you will join me on this journey.

Thank you. I will be in touch soon
